We recently conducted a poll on our blog. We asked: ARE YOU URBANE? Though the question was simple & straightforward, the result was definitely not. As you can see the highest votes were received for the answer – ‘Yes, very much.’ (Option1). The distribution of votes was very stringent and no final result came out vehemently. But still, we are happy that many considered themselves urbane. But what exactly is urbane for you? Being knowledgeable about the current happenings, staying up-to-date with every field, adopting newer technologies positively, not being nostalgic about past and moving on with the current generation, etc, etc…?? All this in one way or the other may decide urbanity. (Our word is not final though)
The option that received second highest number of votes was ‘No. Not at all. I love the way I am.’ Which simply meant that today, definition of being urban has changed. It’s rarely about being modern and sophisticated but largely about being yourself. Though the voters (of second option) claimed that they were not urban, we would like to believe that they were far more urban than those who claimed by going with the first option. As there’s nothing like loving self!
It’s rightly and aptly said – ‘Love yourself & the world will love you!’
