Affection – the needed and the neglected thing.

Affection has many facets to it. It’s also the most sought after and preferred emotion which anyone as an individual yearns for. What we are going to discuss over here is what ultimately happened to this so called sentiment which once was the key to any strong relationship.

Today if you give it a thought we run away or avoid this emotion to dwell in our hearts as it has become another word for spoilage. No matter how much a mother loves her child, there are times when she holds back her emotions which she thinks could affect her child’s practical growth. A boss often prefers silent admiration rather than being friendly and affectionate towards his/her employees, as that’s what as per norms is accurate. A friend is afraid of being too attached or affectionate towards another due to trust reasons.

A distance, a gap and a level of strangeness is what everyone maintains to make sure everything goes fine and sound. Involvement with someone or with something out of affection is considered dangerous and undeserving as per the new world building around.

Let’s once again start trusting each other with emotions and express what we feel deep inside without thinking about the results. No matter how many took your emotions for granted or played with it by acting against you at crucial times, it is still worth being affectionate in this unruly rude world.

Are you waiting to pick up a fight?

With many facilities bestowed upon human beings, the world should be a peaceful place to live on. But it is not. It never really was. People have always been fighting for peace, food, over boundaries, over religion and so on. But the reason had never been so petty and silly as it appears to be now.

The fight today is not for the luxury but for the scratch that you accidently made on a car while passing by. The fight is not for the ever-increasing jam on roads, but over the reason that you didn't give someone a side. The fight is neither for the property nor for the treasure, but for the garbage that flew from your house to someone else’s due to wind. Are they entirely new things that we are hearing? Definitely not.

Just that the result of such brawls are getting close to physical fights unlike mere abuses in earlier days. There have been cases when it has lead to even murders. Have we gone insane? What is the root cause? Can you blame it all on the stress level? And if yes, who creates stress at the first place?

The answer to all lies in us, so called human beings. If office politics, family issues, social concerns et al are the grounds of justification for your increasing trauma in life, you better start rethinking. We are the one who loves to play a little politics at work place and curse it when it comes back to you in an enlarged manner. We are the one who are happy to watch a fight happening on the street, no matter who is beating who. It’s only when it happens to self that we feel awakened and unrest.

In nutshell, we are OKAY with everything until unless it’s not happening to us. But what it leads to is worth giving a thought.

If you analyze a single day of your life, you come across many abnormal happenings starting from – an annoying auto wallah, a fight which you just had a glimpse of on street, an impatient boss, a frustrating client, series of bad news on TV,  etc, etc. You don’t react to all of them but it gets etched in your mind making you wad off your ‘being human’ concept even without your know-how. You get accustomed to such happenings and gradually when something turns to you, you give a response which you rarely expected from yourself. All because things that were ‘too bad’ for you have now turned out to be ‘quite normal’.

Let the things that were considered bad remain to be under the same category. Don't let the label fade away with time.

Stay human, think over and act responsibly. Don’t let go of sense in your life and in your acts.

It should never go unheard!

There are many kinds of conversations that happen in our day to day life. Some are interesting, some are engaging, some are needed, some are neglected, some puts you in trouble, some enlightens your mind, some are friendly, some are naughty, some are boring, some are full of feelings and so on.

Out of all these, the most striking conversations are those which you do to yourself every moment without uttering a word but silently within your heart. Most of the things said are very true and honest in every way. You simply cannot ignore them or make it shut its mouth. It keeps analyzing everything you do, say, see, feel, think, etc and gives its immediate feedback on all of them.

It criticizes you, appreciates, makes you feel good and sometimes tells you the things that went wrong. It’s also capable of giving you some truest advices of your life and motivate you every time you feel low and discarded.

Listening to your heart means that you are being honest to yourself and others too. It helps you understand others, react sensibly, respond meaningfully and remain grounded through life’s ups and downs.
Because as it’s said, your heart can never go wrong. Let’s decide to never let the words from deep inside go unheard!

Parked Hobbies

Bestowed by many talents, but stuck with earning a living???

Is that your story too?

Many alike are so blessed with abundance of talent and creativity, but are busy with their jobs, studies and family. Leaving no time to practice what they love most- Hobby.

“Hobby”, here’s how many dictionaries define it:

“A pursuit outside one's regular occupation engaged in especially for relaxation.”
                                                                                                ~Merriam-Webster

“An activity done regularly in one’s leisure time for pleasure.”
                                                                                                ~ Oxford Dictionary

“A hobby is a regular activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure, typically done during one's leisure time. Examples of hobbies include collecting, creative and artistic pursuits, making, tinkering, sports and adult education. Engaging in a hobby can lead to acquiring substantial skill, knowledge and experience. People also enjoy participating in competitive hobbies such as athletics, hockey, curling, golf, bowling and tennis.
Generally speaking, the person who engages in an activity for fun, not remuneration, is called an amateur (or hobbyist), as distinct from a professional.”
                                                                                                ~ Wikipedia

Of course these all suggest that a Hobby is a persuasion of an activity apart from your professional involvement, but other few words these highlight are: “activity done REGULARLY”, “especially for RELAXATION”, “in one’s LEISURE time for PLEASURE” and also, “engaging in a hobby can lead to ACQUIRING SUBSTANTIAL SKILL, KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE.”

So it is important to find some time for yourself, much regularly to indulge in what relaxes you and brings out the best in you. Giving you time and space to bring out the suppressed side of you that waits deep down to be heard and paid attention too.

It’s not good to keep your emotions and interests parked for ‘sometime later’ all the time, but you must keep riding on them. Hobbies give you a new pump of excitement; they allow your subconscious to speak to you, allowing more space for an insight and self-gratification.

A day without your phone!

Abrupt. Blank. Lost. Confused. Haphazard. Haywire. Stuck. Stranded. Sad. Helpless.

Such is the dependency on phones or largely any gadgets today. All of the above and many such strong sentiments hit you, on a single day that you spend without your phone. Whether you’ve left it at home, work, lost it or it went kaput all of a sudden. Information, messages and yes numbers, you have none. You are so perplexed without it that it becomes tough for you to start, end or continue with anything that you planned for the day. Suddenly you miss it so much and give your loss a shriek of regret on how could you, because those important numbers that you needed and passwords that you stored in a message were in your phone only. Aah! What a terrible day without you O phone…

Not just any one of us but most of us have this fear of losing our phones and finding it tough to co-op up with life. And there are some who are so addicted to every little beep of their phone, that they itch to respond by picking it up every now and then. Not a minute can they spend without the phone. And that’s what makes them or all of us NOMOPHOBIACS: people who have the “no-mobile-phone-phobia”. So, keep a check on your phone-addictive habits and most importantly always have a record of your important information, so that you don’t spend your day regretting or succumbing to the loss of your phone.

Get Vibrant!

Why restrict your choice of colours to a selected few, when you can get vibrant?

Just blacks and blues or any other colour that is repetitive is so boring to look at. In order to explore your personality you must try all shades. Fill your wardrobe with more colour, look out for all the shades that are missing in your wardrobe. You have certain inhibitions; ask a friend or someone whom you trust for guiding you in your dressing sense. Keep a check on the latest trend and observe people in public places for their dressing taste. It is fine if you are not comfortable trying a red or an orange right away, but keep them in mind. Spot people who carry these colours in style and how they team it up in combination to their bags, footwear, lowers and accessories. Develop a taste and next time you shop, try not repeating the existing shades.

Each day is different and so, you must dress differently as well. A colour that feels more like you on a particular day, go slip into it.
